The ProGeo® principle: innovative leak detection through advanced technology

ProGeo® Technology

ProGeo® uses various physical measu­rement methods to detect wetness, moisture and sealing leaks. A parti­cu­larly powerful technology, which was awarded the Berlin/Brandenburg Innovation Prize in 1994, is the electro­re­sistive measu­rement method developed by ProGeo. It uses leakage-related changes in the electrical surface resis­tance of the seal to detect and locate leaks with high response sensi­tivity, location accuracy and automa­ta­bility.

The basic system behind ProGeo®

Appli­ca­tions

It enables full-surface real-time monitoring of even very large sealing surfaces from landfills, flat roofs and building water­pro­ofing up to several 100,000 m² with submeter-accurate, coordinate localization. As a geologger® seal control system, it is successfully used in many geo- and environ­mental engineering projects and is approved by BAM and the Dutch TNO for use in landfills.

Since 1997, a variant of the system optimized for building construction appli­ca­tions has been successfully used for real-time monitoring of flat roofs and building water­pro­ofing under the name smartex® mx. As the flagship of the smartex® system family, it is still the most powerful method for monitoring water­pro­ofing.
